The GKN Fv 432 Armoured Personnel Carrier
This vehicle is the taxi of the battlefield. It is designed to carry up to 12 fully equipped infantrymen in to battle. It also has a permanent crew of a driver and commander. It weighs 14 tonnes and has a 240 horsepower supercharged two stroke multi-fuel engine. It is still relatively easy to drive but has a pair of steering levers instead of a steering wheel. You will drive this vehicle for 1 1/2miles around a suitable course for a true "tank" experience. We can now take passengers in this vehicle at the same time but their comfort is dependant on the ability of the driver !!

The Chieftain main battle tank
This is the big one, the ultimate driving experience. 55 tonnes, 750 horsepower, Fuel consumption of up to 5 gallon / mile (and huge maintenance bills). When in service with the British Army, the running costs could be £1000/mile ! The Dinscott Collection is the only place in the UK where you can drive one of these monsters for a 1/4 of a mile around a specially designed challenging course. On arrival you will be greeted with a cup of coffee, and after being kitted out, you will be briefed on driving procedure and techniques. You will then drive this tank around our specially designed 1/4 mile course. (This tank does require a fair degree of strength to operate the steering, please ring and we can advise). You will then move up to the commanders seat on top of the turret and assume control, whilst being driven at full power by myself or an instructor. We will then cover another 1/2 mile taking in all the obstacles we can find. You will then descend into the turret and all the workings of the tank and its operation and deployment will be explained. Any questions you have we will do our best to answer. There will be an opportunity to carry up to 3 passengers at various points during the experience. This as all our experiences is a one to one experience, and will last usually 3/4 to 1 1/2 hrs. You will have an experience we promise you will not forget. Due to the fact there are only a few Chieftains now left in running condition there are a limited no of experiences available per year so book now to avoid disappointment.
