The Dinscott Tank & Military Collection includes post war British Army vehicles from the Cold War era. This was the period beginning with Sir Winston Churchill's famous "iron curtain" speech when the west feared invasion from the communist Eastern bloc. All these vehicles were specially designed to counteract this threat with most being stationed in Germany. Fortunately with the fall of the Berlin wall this threat never materialized and these vehicles never fired a shot in anger, but serve to remind us of what might of been! All the vehicles have been bought by the collection from disposal sites and scrap yards and restored to their present condition. The collection also includes small arms, inert ammunition and many other items necessary to the running of the British Army in this period.
The collection is open to the public from Easter to the end of October.
